The saying really makes a lot of sense…
When one does not plan in advance, then one is really not looking to do the best or try to ensure things go smoothly. Worst case scenario, one actually fails at what one was doing.
Sadly, I see many people not doing just that — plan. While the result might not be a failure, it does cause a lot of unnecessary work and last minute scrambling for others.
The other thing that is just as annoying is not being able to differentiate between what is IMPORTANT versus what is URGENT. Many a times, because of someone’s failure to plan, everything ends up being urgent (although it’s not important). That someone will insist on everyone dropping everything to work on that urgent (but not important) issue.
I can only hope that over time, these people will learn to plan… And learn to differentiate between what is important and what is urgent. Maybe I should get them Steven Covey’s First Things First.
Here’s the popular matrix from that book:

It is my week off from office but it does not mean I can just laze around at home. At this rate, I don’t think I’ll be able to get much rest…
There’s just so much to do. Gabriel’s been having low grade fever the past few days. So, I had to get up every now and then at night to just check on him.
I still need to get Mocha vaccinated. After that, apply for Mocha’s license. The requirements itself (to get the license) is already troublesome — need to provide photo of the dog, the owner, the house, obtain neighbour’s consent, etc…
Then I’ve got to complete and return some forms required by the local council.
Mrs Tai ordered me to get new work clothes. *sigh* Shopping… Grrr…
I told myself I will also want to spend at least half the day with Gabriel sometime this week — take him shopping, etc…
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope Santa bring lots of goodies for you.
It’s been a hectic and stressful for us, not to mention colourful too. Zachary is still yellow with jaundice. We have been asked to bring him back to the hospital every two days for blood test. Gabriel was red with conjunctivitis (or so we thought), but it turned out some be something not so scary. And earlier this week, we thought Gabriel was coming down with a cold…
I’m just looking forward to next week — it’s a week long break for me from work. Planning some quality time with the family. I feel really bad I’ve not been able to really spend time with Zachary.
The passion fruit plant in our garden is slowly dying. One section of it has turned yellow and seemed to be drying up. We were kinda puzzled as to what happened…

We noticed it about a week back and we were kinda puzzled as to what caused it. Then recently, we found out why…

Meet Gabriel, the abstract artist…

Yes, he loves the drawing board we recently got for him…
About two weeks back, Mrs Tai started to introduced colour pencils to Gabriel. He seemed very happy and interested to draw… More like scribble, actually.
Collected this from Angie this evening…

Waited for Gabriel to go to bed before I started to assemble it. Took me less than 30 minutes to get it up.

It is going to be fun to see the look on Gabriel’s face when he sees the drawing board tomorrow morning… Well, Zachary can join the fun when he is able to hold a crayon.

Meet Zachary. Zachary is Gabriel’s younger brother.
Over the next few weeks, updates on this site will be a bit slow as I re-adjust my schedule.
But I should be able to update more via Twitter. So do ‘follow’ me on Twitter.

Some of my friends tell me I’m missing out on lots of things by not being on Facebook.
But honestly, I’m enjoying my Facebook-free time. And I know important messages get to me either via text messages, voice calls, Twitter, Google Talk, Viber, Whatsapp… That’s good enough for me.
Well, that’s what I call it anyway…

It is actually Google’s way to celebrate reaching the milestone of 10 billion apps downloaded from Android Market. 10 different apps (daily) for the next 10 days will be sold at $0.10 (10cents) or about rm0.30.

* Sound Hound
