The action cam adventure
I’ve been planning to get an action cam for a while now. Figured it might be useful when I fly my quadcopters. Also, thought it might be useful when I start to do some tech guides on YouTube (well, that’s an idea I’m still toying with for now). Plus, I plan to use the action cam as a dashcam too.
GoPro is out of my league (pocket-wise), so I looked around and found a supposedly good substitute, SJCam SJ4000. Based on what I have read, the SJ4000 action cam is supposed to be a good “copy” of the GoPro Hero 4 action cam. But it seems there are many “copies” of the SJ4000 — evident from the many sites that shares tips on how to differentiate between the real SJ4000 vs the fake ones.
Anyway, I found a local reseller selling the wifi version for only rm225. He says its the real thing. Placed the order for it and two days later, this arrived…

Fake SJCam SJ4000
*heartbroken*
Called the reseller and asked for full refund. And got my refund.
Looks like my search for the genuine SJ4000 continues…
In case you plan to get the SJ4000 and would like to know how to tell which one is genuine, check out:

you may waiting for xiao yi from xiao mi…
ya, i’m actually eyeing that and almost bought an “AP set”. but price wasn’t too attractive, so didn’t go ahead with it. but the yi camera does not have a screen and needs an apps + smartphone to view real time.
