The generous family
We were at
Jusco Aeon Bukit Raja and getting ready to leave. The backache that started this morning was getting a bit unbearable for me.
I walked over to the payment machine to pay for the parking. It was RM1 for the parking.
I inserted RM5 but the machine rejected the note. Many machines are just too sensitive so I adjusted a bit and then tried again. Again the RM5 was rejected.
There was a family that was queuing up behind me. Not wanting to let them wait for me, I let them go first.
It was then that I noticed the sign on the payment machine that said the machine only accepted RM1.
Now that’s annoying.
Already my back hurts, now I’ve to grab my wallet and see if I have any RM1. I had to move slowly as my back was really hurting. I looked at my wallet and…
No RM1 notes. Dem… That meant having to walk all the way back to the car to get RM1.
The family in front of me had completed their transaction and saw I was “struggling”. They handed me a RM1 note and told me to just use it.
I am so touched…
It’s a really nice gesture from the Malay family. They didn’t have to, but they just did. A spontaneous act of generosity which I really appreciate at that time because I was in pain and it would have been a long painful walk to the car and then back to the machine.
So, to this generous family — Thank you so much. People like you make this world a better place!
