The Great British Circus Malaysia
Just a few months back, I was lamenting about how there seems be very few circuses around anymore. I felt bad for kids this generation — they have probably never heard or seen a circus before. The last one that I have been to was like 30 years ago.
And then, at the end of last year, a colleague told me that there is a circus in town — The Great British Circus Malaysia.
Immediately, I knew the kids just had to experience it. So off we went to The Great British Circus Malaysia last month…
My first impression — It seemed small. I guess this could be due to the venue. The circus is set up just “behind” IOI Mall and the space there is limited.
The acts are really impressive and I now begin to realise that being a circus performer is not easy. You need to be strong, agile, nimble. Just not easy.
We were expecting to have to leave halfway because we thought the kids would get bored sitting for about two hours. So we were very surprised that the kids sat through the whole thing. Yes, it was that engrossing…
By the way, if you must know, NO ANIMALS were used in the circus. I guess in this aspect, it is different from the circus I used to visit when I was a kid.
