Car grooming at Car Image Beauty Center (SS2) [updated]

A few weeks back, I took my 5 year old car out for a ‘treat’. The car’s been good to my family but even with the ‘constant’ wash, some stains have proven to be quite difficult to remove on my own.

This ‘treat’ is something I have been planning for a few months — needed the time to do research since car grooming isn’t something I’m familiar with. I had to ask around and also compare packages. Plus, I wanted to be sure that what I expect is reasonable and can be fulfilled.

I finally settled with Car Beauty Image Center located in SS2.

The water stain is something that I’m very particular about. I wanted it gone. I had to make sure the groomers know that and can deliver it.

I brought my car to the center and had a chat with the owner – Ken.

Ken is a very friendly and patient guy. He took the time to explain to me the different packages and services that his center offers. He listened to my concerns and answered my questions. After checking the car, he said it will not be a problem. He was also very accommodating and flexible. He actually customised the package to suit my needs. He told me the whole process will take a few hours and I’m welcomed to stay there and watch. There’s also free WI-FI, if I wanted to surf the internet. Whole package would cost me rm250 and will include engine wash as well as some kind of misting that is supposed to “disinfect” the car interior.

And so, the few hours process began…

So, how did it go after a few hours?

Personally, I am very happy with the outcome. I think it was worth it. It made the 5 year old car look brand new again — exterior and interior. Everything looks so clean now. All for RM250 — if calculated over 5 years, that comes to less than RM5 a month!

The misting bit… While it was pleasant smelling at first, after a few hours later, it started to smell a bit like the mixture used for fogging. The smell isn’t that strong that it becomes unbearable, but it was definitely there for about a week.

While generally the team at Car Image Beauty Center did a good job, there were some minor parts that they overlooked like:

I guess that is probably because they did not wind down the windows. It’s a small thing. I wiped it clean on my own.
