Adults can get HFMD too…
Yes, if you must know, adults can get HFMD (Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease) too.
According to news reports, the number of cases in Malaysia is on the rise.
Dr Hisham said that so far, Selangor reported the highest number of HFMD cases with 4,441 (32.6%), followed by Johor 1,393 (10.2%), Kuala Lumpur 1,317 (9.7%), Sabah 1,299 (9.5%) and Sarawak 1,108 (8.1%).
Note: I believe the figures are cases reported for the year so far…
With many families with both parents having to work, it can be difficult from parents to take a week (or more) off from work to take care of kids. Hence, it’s not surprising if some parents actually let their kids go back to school or babysitter while their child is still carrying the virus.
I guess in this case, everyone needs to see the bigger picture and think also about the community.
Oh ya, I’ll be staying at home for the next few days…
